Doug Bloodworth

Nostalgic views of childhood interests are central to Doug Bloodworth’s work. Comic books, games we played or comfort food can all be found as central themes of his art. Doug studied Commercial Arts before working in several genres of the art world, such as painting caricatures and even billboards. Doug’s personal interests steered him towards the mastery of fine art techniques and he began a working mentorship with Marv Gunderson, the exclusive artist for the Marlboro brand. Painting some of the countries most iconic billboards was an experience that shaped Doug’s work, and provided an invaluable experience. Doug was commissioned to produce two giant 30′ x 200′ murals at Tampa’s Tropicana Field. The project took six months to complete and was a large factor in him choosing to focus solely on painting fine art pieces.

The influence of comic book printing can be seen throughout Doug’s work today, leading to an ever increasing popularity for his work. Combining decades of artistic technique with Doug’s commitment to creating a personal connection to his clients has lead Doug’s photorealism work to be recognized as one of the premier practitioners in his field. Doug’s work is carried in galleries across the world, such as Celebrites Gallery in Maui, Monarch Gallery in La Jolla, Atlas Galleries in Chicago, Russeck Gallery in Soho and Palm Beach, and Foxx Galerie in Zurich and Zimmermann & Heitmann in Dusseldorf and Dortmund.
